It's always the small things that last in your mind; all the small silly things that add up in time. Small comments and gestures that we store deep inside. Barely knowing we have them, they curl up and hide. To build and destroy this love that we've found, those small little things that float all around. From holding your hand when we go for a walk, to getting upset and having to "talk." Those times we remember in the back of our heads that never pop up 'til we lie down in bed. These small little things: the good and the bad. Those small, silly things that drive us all mad.

When life has gone blank; No more ink in your pen. When pain pulls at your heart Again and again. When your dreams only appear Under the cover of night. When you're stumbling around And you can't find the light. When you've done all you can And you just can't cope. When there are eyes all around But not a spark of hope. When you're stuck in the dark And you can't break free. Where do you go? And would you please take me?

Remember barefoot summers with pavement stuck to your soles? Children would keep playing even running on hot coals. Clocks, they had no meaning, we timed ourselves with sun. When the streetlights lit the darkness we would scatter one by one. The summer is now over with parents patching holes. Our uniforms now matching those darkened little soles.

My little bird, She just loves to fly. Please close the window So she can't reach the sky. My little bird, She mourns like a widow. I'll give her a cage So she can't reach the window. My little bird, She grows restless with age. I'll trim all her feathers So she'll stay in her cage. My little bird, Won't you sing me a song? They used to warm my heart, But not in so long. My little bird, Is it because of your feathers? I'll let them grow back now, If we can just sing together. My little bird, Is it due to the cage, dear? Sorry to upload this in the form of a piece of work, but I wasn't sure where to ask this where all the people watching me would be able to see. I have a question for all of you, because I realize that I haven't been uploading all the work I've been doing. I've actually been doing quite a bit of writing for the past few months, but I haven't been uploading much of it. So, I want to know what you would like to see. There's no weight on my shoulder, But there's a guillotine at my throat. If I stagger, if I falter This will be all I wrote. This pain that I am feeling, You dare say it's not enough? My wounds, they are not healing, It has nothing to do with being tough. Everyone handles different, We have different wheels, in and out. In the places you are tolerant, I could be shut-out. So take your little pixie nose, Your giggling disbelief. All your violent jabs just show the pain you hide down deep. Everyone has a guillotine Hung above their hope. The only difference I can see Is if you loose the rope.

How do I say those simple words, The ones I fear and dread? How could I spit these awful thoughts that're  spilling from my head? I know my tongue can make the sweetest words galore. But right now I need to make The words I made before. Just move your tongue, and clench your teeth, and kiss your hope goodbye. Remember now, it's buried deep in years now long passed by. My hands, they swell, my eyes, they burn. This struggle can't compare to what will pass when I learn these words of pure despair. Though years have passed I've found them now, those darkest words I fear. I just don't know that I can say what needs to be made clear. I hope

A brittle shiver running down my spine arches my back and causes a whine. Where was the warmth that I had sought? Where was the love for which I had fought? The summer no longer holds any warmth and my body can no longer set any forth. Autumn usually sets my mind at rest, but this Fall is heartless at best. Where are those friends who would make me laugh? It seems like they all have come and past. Where is the hope that I had found the one? Now I'm only grateful it is finally done. This shiver has spread now, into my eyes; shifting my sight to alleviate those lies imagined by myself in a fit of denial. No longer does anything seem worth wh

I'm everywhere around you Deb, we will never be far apart. I wish I could hold you one last time Deb, but I know I will always be in your heart. I had to leave you early, but know life with you was great. I want you to know Deb, that you are my soulmate. Tell my girls I love them and to hold their heads high. Tell my girls I love them. Tell them, this is not goodbye. I loved serving my country but always keep in mind. Nothing matched the love I had for the family I leave behind. So please continue to march without me and embrace our girls too. Please always remember our family's love was magnificent and true. We will all meet again somed
